This page will be dedicated to learning more about the game and rules of volleyball. One of the Booster Club's roles is to help make each parent a supporting member of the Guilderland teams. A good way to start is to better understand the game.

Question: What are the positions in volleyball?
Outside Hitter - OH
The outside hitter plays on the left side of the net. This player's primary focus is on attacking, blocking the opponents right side hitter, and passing.
Middle Hitter - MH
The middle hitter or middle blocker plays the middle of the net. This player is responsible for attacking from the middle and for blocking on every attack from the opponent.
Right Side - RS
The right side or opposite (because this player is positioned opposite the setter) is similar to the outside hitter but plays on the right side of the net. This player has an additional responsibility of setting in the event that the setter takes the first ball.
Setter - S
The setters primary focus is on setting up the attack. In the 5-1 formation her responsibilities will also include passing and blocking depending on whether she is in the front or back row.
